Welcome to Love Open Water London Royal Docks at the Good Hotel!

Enjoy open water swimming in an iconic London setting, a warm welcome from our team and a community to share the experience with. Whether you’re joining us for a refreshing dip or working towards your next challenge, our friends at the Good Hotel provide a wonderful new home, with our Club Room for catching up before and after your swim.

Arrival and check-in:
DO NOT USE THE MAIN HOTEL ENTRANCE.
Swimming access is via the east side gangway. Look for the Love Open Water gazebo and check in with our team.
Please arrive with enough time to check in and prepare, so you are ready to swim at your booked time.

Facilities and your visit:
Use our indoor changing facilities. Please do not change on the dock or pontoon.
Our team will show you the facilities, where to leave your belongings and the designated route to the water.
Please do not stop to chat or congregate on the pontoon. Keep noise to a minimum and save conversations and socialising for the Club Room.
Use only the designated swimmer routes and facilities, keep walkways clear and respect the privacy and comfort of hotel guests.
Follow the team’s guidance on removing wetsuits and wet equipment before returning indoors.

Course size:
We have different loop sizes (50–1,000 m). Loops available are dependent on session times and weather conditions and will be adjusted to ensure swimmer safety.
Please check the available course and swimming direction with our team before entering the water. Use the designated entry and exit points.
No jumping or diving from the pontoon. Follow the lifeguards’ instructions at all times.

Swim time:
Please swim only within your booked timeslot.
Arrive with enough time to check in and prepare, so you are ready to enter the water at your booked start time.
You must leave the water by the end of your booked timeslot, or at least five minutes before the session closes, whichever is earlier.

Bookings:
Please ensure you check the day and time before you book.
Swim bookings are non-transferable. Refunds may be offered under certain conditions.

CREDITS
Credits packages are offered in blocks of 10. Credits are for the particular activity chosen. They do not expire and therefore are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Swimming with children:
Water temperature must be above 14°C.
Visit our website HELP page and look for Swimming with Children for information about minimum age and conditions for swimming with children.

Equipment:
Tow floats and bright headwear are mandatory.
Tow floats are available to hire onsite for £3, subject to availability.
Bring suitable swimwear, a towel, warm layers and footwear for moving between the changing facilities and the water.

Wetsuits:
Wetsuits are not compulsory at Love Open Water venues. We no longer offer onsite wetsuit hire. Wetsuits can be hired separately from Tri Adventure Hire.

Inductions:
Cold Water Induction is mandatory from 1 November to 31 March, regardless of temperature, and whenever the water temperature is below 15°C.
You must complete it before swimming when these requirements apply.
If you have previously completed the NOWCA online induction or an accepted Love Open Water onsite induction, this should be recorded against your profile. You do not need to repeat it each winter. Onsite inductions completed at other operators’ venues are not accepted.
Please bring your completion certificate if you completed the induction recently and it may not yet appear on your profile.

Respect Swimmers’ Privacy – Photography Guidance
To ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable at our swimming sessions, we kindly ask all swimmers and visitors to respect the privacy of others, including hotel guests and staff.

• Please do not take photographs or videos of anyone without their explicit consent.
• Photography and filming are strictly prohibited in changing areas, toilets and showers.
• If you wish to take photos of your friends or family, please ensure you have their permission and that no one else is captured in the background without their agreement.
• For the safety and privacy of children and vulnerable adults, additional restrictions may apply. Official photography (for club or event purposes) will only take place with prior consent and will be communicated in advance.
• Underwater / professional photography is not allowed without permission of Love Open Water.

NOWCA membership:
All Love Open Water venues are NOWCA affiliated venues. This means you must be a NOWCA member to swim.
NOWCA membership gives you access to participating venues around the country, as well as a range of other benefits. Swim bookings are charged separately.

You should sign up and pay the membership fee on ACTiO and then book an activity or event at any affiliated venue.

When you arrive for your first swim, you will be issued with a NOWCA wristband which you must wear every time you swim.
You must tap in before entering the water and tap out immediately after leaving. Let the onsite staff know how far you’ve swum when you tap out.
Speak to a team member before re-entering the water so you can be tapped back in.
Your swim stats will be available following the session. Please allow up to 12 hours to receive your stats email.

NOWCA provides an integrated booking, safety & venue management system for open water venues. Events and activities offered via the system are done so by Love Open Water and NOWCA has no part in the organisation or management of these.
